From Our Factory to Your Farm: How AIS Delivers Incinerators Around the World
Kyle Watson, Operations and Logistics Coordinator at Agri Incineration Systems, explains how AIS plans, protects and delivers incinerator shipments to customers across the UK and around the world.

By Kyle Watson – Logistics & Shipping, Agri Incineration Systems Ltd
At Agri Incineration Systems (AIS), our responsibility doesn't end when an incinerator leaves the production line. Getting our equipment safely from our UK manufacturing facility to customers across the world is an important part of the service we provide.
With customers throughout the UK, Europe, North America, the Middle East and beyond, logistics plays a major role in our day-to-day operations.
My role is to coordinate the shipping of our incinerators, working closely with our manufacturing team, transport providers and customers to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible.
More Than Just Arranging Transport
Shipping an industrial incinerator involves considerably more than booking a lorry or shipping container.
Our machines are substantial pieces of engineering, manufactured using heavy-duty steel and durable monolithic refractory concrete. Depending on the model and destination, transportation may require specialist vehicles, lifting equipment or container shipping.

Each shipment has its own requirements, from the weight and dimensions of the machine to the facilities available at its destination.
A large part of my job is identifying these requirements early and making sure the necessary arrangements are in place before the machine is ready to leave us.
Getting the Details Right
Good logistics starts well before an incinerator is completed.
As our production team works towards a dispatch date, I begin coordinating the practicalities of getting the equipment to its destination.
This typically involves:
- Transport planning: Selecting appropriate vehicles, shipping containers and freight providers.
- Loading and handling: Arranging suitable lifting equipment and ensuring safe loading procedures are followed.
- Export documentation: Preparing the relevant shipping paperwork and coordinating customs requirements.
- Scheduling: Managing collection dates, shipping arrangements and onward transport.
- Customer updates: Keeping customers informed about delivery arrangements and any important changes.
Getting these details right helps avoid unnecessary delays and allows our customers to prepare for their new equipment.
Shipping AIS Incinerators Worldwide
One of the aspects I enjoy most about my role is seeing the different destinations our machines reach.
We regularly deal with shipments heading to markets such as the United States, Saudi Arabia and Europe, alongside deliveries throughout the UK.
International shipping brings its own challenges. Container restrictions, port schedules, customs procedures and local transportation requirements can all influence how equipment is shipped.
For larger machines, standard shipping arrangements aren't always suitable, meaning alternative transport or specialist handling may be required.
We work with experienced freight forwarders and hauliers to establish the most practical solution for each shipment.
There isn't a single approach that works for every incinerator, and that's what makes the logistics side of the business interesting.
Protecting Our Equipment and Our Customers' Investment
Our incinerators are built for demanding operating environments, but transporting heavy industrial equipment still requires care.
Correct loading, handling and securing procedures are essential to reducing the risk of damage during transit.
Before dispatch, we coordinate the necessary arrangements with our transport partners, taking into account the weight, dimensions and specific handling requirements of each machine.
It's important to remember that every incinerator represents a significant investment for its new owner. We want it to arrive in the condition it left our factory.
Keeping Everything Moving
Communication is probably one of the most important parts of my job.
On any given shipment, I might be dealing with our production team, a UK haulage company, an international freight forwarder and an overseas shipping agent.
Making sure everyone has accurate information helps keep things moving and prevents small issues from becoming bigger problems.
Of course, international logistics doesn't always go exactly to plan. Shipping schedules change, ports experience delays and additional documentation can sometimes be required.
While we can't control every aspect of the journey, we can make sure we're prepared, respond quickly and keep customers informed.
That's something I take seriously.
Why Reliable Delivery Matters
For many of our customers, an incinerator is essential to their waste management and biosecurity operations.
Whether it's a pig farm, poultry business, slaughterhouse or other agricultural operation, having reliable equipment available when needed is important.
A delay in delivery can affect installation schedules and operational planning, so we do everything reasonably possible to keep shipments on track.

By working closely with our engineering, manufacturing and sales teams, we can coordinate dispatch arrangements around production schedules and customer requirements.
It's a team effort, and one that continues right through to delivery.
From the UK to the World
There's always a sense of satisfaction when another AIS incinerator leaves our factory, particularly when it's beginning a journey of thousands of miles.
Behind every shipment is the work of our engineers, manufacturing team and everyone involved in producing the equipment.
My job is to ensure that all that effort is followed by a well-organised delivery process.
Whether we're arranging transport for a smaller agricultural incinerator within the UK or coordinating a large overseas shipment, the objective remains the same: get the equipment to our customer safely, efficiently and with as little disruption as possible.
At AIS, we take pride not only in the incinerators we manufacture but also in the service and support that come with them. We also provide maintenance and technical support for incinerators manufactured by other brands. Our team is on hand to help customers with practical advice and ongoing support.
